Professor Julie Ann Brown visualized Santa Barbara Ghost Tours after researching the friendly ghosts of Santa Barbara. Through fire, flood, and pandemic this endeavor has evolved into a small business that serves residents and visitors to SB and primarily the Enchantment Zone (Presidio District). Ghost Tour Development is the next step in her endeavor.
Julie began collecting ghost stories while attending USC and working on the Queen Mary as a tour guide. She was constantly in trouble for telling ghost stories as the City of Long Beach (at that time) did not want the QM to be known as a "ghost ship."
Today, Julie has heard many of her collected stories told to others during the current Queen Mary guided tours, decades after she first collected them!
When she is not volunteering as a docent or usher at Old Mission Santa Barbara, she teaches nine classes as a tenured professor and the Department Chair of Business Administration.
It seems that Santa Barbara is the City of Friendly Ghosts. From the Chumash (sacred indigenous people located in SB and the Central Coast of CA for thousands of years) to those who have left this realm recently, the friendly ghosts of Santa Barbara enjoy coming back for a sentimental holiday journey back home.
She is excited to have you join her as she tells stories at Grassini Winery during a ghost walk or at a private historical club in beautiful Santa Barbara. If you wish to attend an event where you need a storyteller or team builder or walk the streets where the happy Santa Barbara ghosts are delighted that you love their town and story, then it is time to join us!
